During lockdown, we were thrilled to be able to keep in touch with our DA Family online. We talked on our Facebook page daily, we reminisced and shared pictures. People told us their stories, and one of those standout stories was when Victoria told us about how she met her soon-to-be Husband on our Everest Base Camp trip back in 2018. 

Travel in times of uncertainty

We're living in a very different world at the moment, COVID-19 has truly left scars, and we're all learning how to adapt to the new normal. Things are bound to change even more in the coming days, weeks and months. But if there is a glimmer of hope we're holding on to, it's that we're certain travel will be more important than ever. 

Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a bit Disney mad! I went to see the remake of Disney's Aladdin last month and I give it a massive thumbs up (in case you were wondering). I'm listening to the soundtrack as I type this...

I’ve been holiday hunting over the last couple of weeks and found myself with tab after tab open on my browser; comparing details, inclusions and most importantly price. Before you ask, no, sadly I haven’t got anything booked yet… What can I say!? I’m too indecisive!

It’s made me realise that finding the right challenge, at the right price can often be the most stressful part. So, I wanted to break this down from a DA perspective. Whether you're looking for your first bucket list trip like trekking the Great Wall of China, or climbing Kilimanjaro, or simply looking to explore Asia on two wheels, hopefully, it’ll help you to make a smart decision a lot quicker than I have.

Social media is a polarising topic of conversation. Even just here in the DA office; some of us love it, some of us hate it, and some don't care either way.

Who watched the #ReturnToKili show on BBC One this week? Pretty awe-inspiring, right? While it showed the brutal nature of when altitude takes effect and the exhausting slog that is the journey of reaching the summit, it also showed the shooting highs of overcoming the varying fears, struggles and emotions, and conquering the Kilimanjaro challenge.

It certainly caused a flurry of excitement at DA HQ, reminding us of just how spectacular our Trek Kilimanjaro is and the positive impact that completing a fundraising challenge like this can have on so many lives.
