Experience ‘Race Across the World’

Find me on:

As we approach the end of Race Across the World Series 5, we’re left asking the same thing we do every year: what on earth are we going to do with ourselves now?! Over the past few weeks, we’ve watched teams navigate the chaos and beauty of unfamiliar landscapes, battle language barriers, miss buses, find community, and ultimately chase that exhilarating sense of purpose you can only get through travel.

And if you’re anything like us, you've possibly shouted "I've been there!" more than once at the telly.

This year’s route through Asia offered a whistle-stop tour of some of the most incredible places on the planet, and several of them happen to be home to some of our most-loved adventure challenges. So, if watching the show gave you itchy feet, here’s where to head next if you want to turn screen time into summit time.

The Great Wall of China – Where It All Began

Great Wall of China Trek →

The series opened with a dash along the iconic Great Wall: an unforgettable launchpad for the journey, and an equally unforgettable trek in its own right. Our Great Wall of China challenge follows a section of this ancient fortification near Beijing, away from the busy tourist spots and into rural villages and stunning mountain scenery. If the show’s opening scenes lit a fire in you, this one’s calling your name.

Nepal – The Heart of the Himalayas

Himalayas

Nepal stole the hearts of contestants and viewers. That golden light, those incredible peaks, and the quiet warmth of the people came across in every frame. Our crew weren’t surprised! Nepal is consistently voted a top destination by our leaders, guides, and participants alike.

Choose from three of our treks that’ll scratch that same adventurous itch:

  • Everest Base Camp: a legendary trek for good reason — this is bucket list material.

  • Himalayas Trek: explore the lower foothills and remote communities for a gentler, equally stunning adventure.

  • Annapurna Circuit: high passes, cultural encounters, and panoramic mountain views.

Bonus: All three can be extended with a visit to Chitwan National Park, which featured in episode 2 when Fin and Sioned chose to visit the park for some wildlife spotting - keep your eyes peeled for rhinos!

India – Beauty in the Chaos

India wasn’t always easy viewing, and that’s what made it brilliant. It showed the unpredictable, intense, and often beautiful chaos that makes travelling here so unforgettable. The teams were challenged in ways only India can - if you felt inspired, we’ve got three ways to experience it for yourself:

Cycle Rajasthan

6th rajasthan-min

As seen in Episode 6, the teams travelled through Rajasthan, taking in cities like Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Udaipur - a vibrant trio that formed a standout stretch of the race. Our Rajasthan Cycle Challenge follows a similarly colourful route, winding through historic cities, desert villages, and grand palaces. From camel carts to painted elephants, this journey is bursting with culture, contrast, and character.

Dalai Lama Mountain Trek

In the same episode, the racers reached McLeod Ganj, the home of the Tibetan government in exile and the fifth checkpoint of the race. It’s also the starting point of our Dalai Lama Mountain Trek. This deeply spiritual challenge takes you high into the Dhauladhar range, trekking through remote villages and rhododendron forests with incredible views across the Indian Himalayas.

Trek Kerala

Trek Kerala_4

In Episode 8, the race journeyed through Kerala, en route to the final Indian checkpoint at Kanyakumari, the country's southernmost tip. Our Kerala Trek gives you the chance to slow down and soak it all in — think lush tea plantations, wildlife-rich forests, and cool mountain air. It’s the polar opposite of the fast-paced race, and exactly what your soul might need.

Both treks can be extended with our Golden Triangle add-on — yes, that iconic Taj Mahal photo moment.
