There’s something extraordinary about standing in the middle of nowhere and looking up.
No streetlights. No traffic. No glow on the horizon. Just you, the quiet, and a sky full of stars.
In an always-on world, true darkness has become rare and precious. That’s where Dark Sky Tourism comes in.
What is Dark Sky Tourism?
Dark Sky Tourism is all about travelling to places where light pollution is minimal or non-existent.
It’s about seeking out wilderness, wide-open spaces, and truly dark skies – where you can see the Milky Way stretching overhead, constellations jump out at you, and shooting stars take centre stage.
We're talking stargazing, astrophotography, camping under the stars, and simply experiencing the quiet awe of a night sky most people never get to see.
Our Top Adventures for Stargazers, Sky-Chasers & Wilderness Seekers
Whether you're dreaming of sleeping under starlit skies, standing beneath the Northern Lights, or witnessing a total eclipse in the wild, these are the challenges that take you beyond the ordinary:
Sahara Desert Trek
Golden dunes by day, galaxy-scattered skies by night – the Sahara delivers silence, space, and serious stargazing. You’ll trek across wind-blown sands and rocky plateaus, sleeping under canvas far from any signs of modern life. When the sun drops, the stars take over – brilliant, endless, and utterly humbling.
Trek Mount Toubkal
Climb North Africa’s highest peak (4,167m) and experience the magic of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains. The route winds through remote Berber villages and high-altitude valleys, with traditional hospitality and sweeping views. When night falls, the mountain skies are breathtakingly clear, perfect for stargazing at altitude.
Arctic Adventure
Snow-covered forests, frozen lakes, and total wilderness await you in Finland. Explore the Arctic by snowshoe and sled by day, then cosy up in remote cabins under vast, northern skies. With luck, you might even catch the aurora weaving its magic above the trees.
Trek to Ancient Petra
Follow ancient trading routes through the Jordanian desert to one of the Seven New Wonders of the World: Petra. You’ll trek through sandstone canyons daily and sleep under vast desert skies by night. A wild and powerful experience made even more special by the current quietness of Jordan.
Right now, visitor numbers to Jordan are lower than usual, and while the reasons are understandable, it is still sad. This trip offers a rare and meaningful chance to explore this extraordinary country, support local communities, and experience its timeless beauty without the crowds.
Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) by Night
One night. One mountain. One unforgettable climb under the stars. You’ll ascend Snowdon by headtorch, reaching the summit guided by constellations. It’s a short, sharp, soul-stirring adventure.
Something extra special...
While Dark Sky Tourism focuses on natural nighttime darkness, solar eclipses are a different phenomenon: a dramatic, rare event where the daytime sky briefly darkens as the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun.
Our brand-new Icelandic Trek ties in beautifully with the spirit of Dark Sky adventure, even though it’s not dark sky tourism in the traditional sense. This is about seeking out a once-in-a-lifetime sky event, far from cities and crowds, surrounded by nature’s raw beauty.
NEW: Eclipse Trek (One-Off Special Departure)
This is not just a trek. It’s a front-row seat to one of the universe’s most awe-inspiring shows: the total solar eclipse on 12 August 2026.
You’ll hike through Iceland’s steaming valleys and ancient lava fields, staying in remote cabins under vast skies. And on that one extraordinary afternoon? You’ll experience the moment the sun disappears, the light fades, and the world shifts around you.
🚨 Places are extremely limited. One departure only. Don’t miss your chance to be part of it!
Look at the stars, look how they shine for you.
Dark Sky tourism isn’t just about ticking off destinations. It’s about reconnecting with the natural world, embracing stillness, and experiencing the wonder that lives just beyond the glow of everyday life.
Whether you're drawn to the desert, the Arctic, ancient cities, or once-in-a-lifetime celestial events, your next big adventure could begin with the stars.
