These challenges can take huge amounts of planning and training, with some even having very limited capacity. Without further ado, discover these bucket list adventures and decide which one you'll embark on in 2021.

The Inca Trail is so sought after you'll need a permit to set foot on this fascinating journey, don't worry - we'll have that covered. There are limited permits for each day of the trail, which can only be bought by travel operators. This leaves you to focus on the challenge of trekking the Incan-paved steps high into the cloudforest above, navigating steep climbs and dramatic drops, with the added altitude factor to contend with. Once you reach the Sun Gate and enter the mesmerising Incan city in the clouds, you'll see why the challenging trek is all worth it. Opening up to reveal a wider city of ancient ruins, masked with mystery and intrigue, Machu Picchu offers a precious insight into the Incan life and legend thousands of years ago.

There's no preparing for the magnitude or awe that you'll undoubtedly face when greeted by the Great Wall. 'Pictures don't quite do it justice' is what we hear from participants time and time again, when they finally see the wall for themselves. Snaking for miles across mountainous landscape and dispersed with watch towers that make for ideal viewpoints, the Great Wall forms a unique and fascinating base for a trekking challenge. A trek that distances you from the hustle and bustle of every day life and allows you to focus on just you and the ever-stretching wall ahead. Reaching remote regions of Bejing, we follow both old and restored sections of the wall, drinking up the culture and intricate history that led and continues to be made on this poignant engineering creation.

Riding from London to Paris is one of the ultimate euro-cycles, its iconic stature born from many elite riders over the years completing this mighty route as part of the Tour de France. With our July ride even giving you the chance to join in on the action, catching parts of the Tour de France from the heart of it. The prestigious ride finds itself on many cycling-fanatic's bucket lists and rightly so. Long days in the saddle and more than a few tough climbs, this challenge tests your stamina and determination as you make tracks through the picturesque countryside towards the cobbled streets of Paris. Finishing up underneath the Eiffel Tower and taking the signature shot with your bike raised in the air is a satisfying finale to a legendary challenge.

Trekking Africa's highest mountain is no easy feat and this challenge is designed to test you in more ways than one. From the factor of increasing altitude as you trek to the 5896 m summit, to hiking through micro-climates and across varying terrain that offers new and exhausting challenges in each given situation. It's relentless. There's a reason that the Kilimanjaro-club is not for everyone and this is considered the crème de la crème in the DA book of adventures. But for every tough mountain climb, a magnificent view awaits and this is no exception. The inspiring local porters motivate you through laughter and song that you'll be hard pushed not to join in with your last musters of energy, your fellow trekkers soon become friends for life as you battle through the journey and the mountain is sure to leave a lasting impression.
